All applicants must fully comply with relevant documentation required for respective visa categories. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Therefore, before visiting Visa Application Centre, applicants are requested for their kind cooperation in making sure that the recommended documents are provided and sorted out as per the checklist.
1.In order to schedule an appointment for Croatia Visa Application Center, please visit https://visa.vfsglobal.com/irn/en/hrv/ and follow the instructions in Schedule an Appointment section.
• Applicants need to be present at the Visa Application Center not earlier than 15 minutes before and not later than 45 minutes after their scheduled appointment time.
Documents Required (Short Stay)
It is issued for one, two or more entries for transit, tourist, business, private or other purposes.
The validity period of a visa depends on the circumstances of traveling and cannot exceed five years.
Applicants should request for visa PERSONALLY, at least one month before the planned trip to Croatia.
All documents must be officially translated in English and verified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Necessary documents:
-Passport valid for (at least) three more months after the planned departure from Croatia, with (at least) two empty pages in which visa could be affixed
-Birth Certificate in English
-Online Visa application form (http://www.mvep.hr/files/file/obrasci/VisaApplicationEnglish.pdf )
-Travel Itinerary
-One recent front-view, color photograph, white background, size: 3.5× 4.5
-If you are invited to Republic of Croatia by private or legal person
-Original guarantee letter from the inviter,
-or copy of it, if the original is deposited to the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia
-Proof of Paid Accommodation (Hotel, apartment, etc.)
-Letter of employment specifying the applicant’s type of work or position in the company, his salary, length of employment and days of vacation granted as well as guaranteeing that he/she will keep his/her post after returning from Croatia (in English)
-Officials (holders of ordinary passports, not diplomatic or service): act of appointment or certificate of tenure and last payslip ;
-Employees: certificate of employment or recent employment contract + payslips for the last three months, certificate of affiliation to Tamin-e Ejtemaei (Social Security Organisation), Khadamat-e Darmani (Health Services Organisation) or equivalent, or letter of the employer explaining why this certificate is missing;
-Traders: proof of entry in the trade register (e.g. trade licence or declaration from official trade organisation) and proof of membership of Tamin-e Ejtemaei (Social Security Organisation), Khadamat-e Darmani (Health Services Organisation) or equivalent, if applicable;
-Directors or shareholders of Iranian companies: introduction letter signed by a legal representative of the company confirming the office or status of the applicant; proof of existence of the company in Iran (e.g. notice published on the Official Journal); proof of appointment if not mentioned on the Official Journal;
-Artists: proof of membership to one of the artist's official professional associations (e.g. House of Cinema, House of Photography, etc.) and/or proof of previous engagement in professional artistic activity (exhibitions, festivals, etc.) and certificate of affiliation to Tamin-e Ejtemaei (Social Security Organisation), Khadamat-e Darmani (Health Services Organisation) or equivalent, if applicable;
-Pensioners: proof of receipt of a retirement pension;
-Students or minors: evidence of the parents’ social or employment status and, where applicable, school/university attendance certificate
-A letter from the applicant’s bank, and bank statement, specifying the amount of money held in the account, type of account and date it was opened and account turnover for the last six months (in English)
-Proof of ownership of property in Iran, if applicable (in English)
-Health travel insurance, with territorial validity for Republic of Croatia, valid for the whole duration of the applicant’s stay in Republic of Croatia, covering medical expenses in the amount of thirty thousand Euros
-Tow wayticket reservation
-Applicants are required to pay consular fee (80 Euros in cash), when lodging the request for visa. It is advisable to bring the exact amount.
-Each applicant must have 70 Euros or the equivalent in his bank account for traveling to Republic of Croatia per day.
-For minors and persons deprived of legal capacity: visa application shall be submitted by a parent/legal representative, including:
-birth certificate of the minor (if parents are legal guardians)
-decision of the competent body designating the legal guardian
-If a minor is traveling without a parent/legal guardian, (s)he must carry a notarized consent of a legal guardian that shall contain personal information of the parent/legal guardian and the purpose, the period and length of stay in Croatia, the period for which the consent is issued, and the signature of the parent/legal guardian.
-The date of travel must match the date of ticket reservation, hotel reservation, guarantee letter, and duration of travel insurance.
-Visa processing time is usually up to 15 days.
-Applicants cannot apply earlier than three months before the intended date of their trip.
-Please fill out the visa application form online at https://crovisa.mvep.hr/default.aspx?langId=en Scan and attach photo and all the required documents.
Printed and filled out application form along with other required documents should be submitted to the Embassy.
Documents Required (Transit)
-Visa application form: to be filled out and signed by the applicant, or a parent or legal guardian on behalf of minors.
The application form can also be filled out online at https://crovisa.mvep.hr/.
-Passport: issued within the last 10 years, with expiry date exceeding the expiry date of the requested visa by a minimum of three months, and containing at least two empty pages. Please copy all previous (valid and expired) visas and used pages.
-One photograph: please see the information on the Photo Specification page
-Travel health insurance to cover the possible expenses related to repatriation, for health reasons, urgent medical assistance and/or urgent hospitalization, with the minimum coverage of EUR 30 000. The insurance must be valid for the territory of the Republic of Croatia during the entire stay in Croatia.
The applicant for a multiple-entry visa must have travel health-insurance policy that covers the period of the first visit to Croatia.
-Proof of residence for nationals other than Iranian nationals: a photocopy of the stay permit;
-Means of transportation: travel ticket for airplane, bus, or boat; registration card and driver's license if travelling by car
-Proof of entry into a third county (visa issued for a third country, if required) or proof of itinerary (travel ticket, etc.).
-For minors and persons deprived of legal capacity: visa application shall be submitted by a parent/legal representative, including:
birth certificate of the minor (if parents are legal guardians)
decision of the competent body designating the legal guardian
If a minor is traveling without a parent/legal guardian, (s)he must carry a notarized consent of a legal guardian that shall contain personal information of the parent/legal guardian and the purpose, the period and length of stay in Croatia, the period for which the consent is issued, and the signature of the parent/legal guardian.
The documents attached shall not be older than three months.
Croatian Embassy may require you to submit additional supporting documents and/or certified translation as well as the international certification (appostille) of the documents during the visa application process.
Documents Required (Long Term)
Issued to a third-country national who has been granted temporary stay or issued stay and work permit, and requires a short-term visa to enter the Republic of Croatia.
Long-term visa (visa D) is issued for one (1) or multiple (MULT) entries, with the period of validity no longer than six months and for maximum 30-days' stay.
When applying for a long-term visa (visa D), the applicant shall enclose the following documents:
-Filled in and personally signed prescribed long-term visa (type D) application form;
-Valid travel document:
-travel document must be issued in the previous 10 years,
-travel document must contain at least two empty pages for the visa,
-with validity at least three months longer than the validity of the granted temporary stay or issued stay and work permit;
-a 35x45 mm colour photo
-Evidence of granted temporary stay or issued stay and work permit in the Republic of Croatia, must apply not older than 2 months from the Grant Letter Start date.
-Travel health insurance;
-Reservation of Airplane Ticket
-Evidence of paid visa fee (93 Euro)
Important Information:
-With regards to the Government’s Decision, starting with 22 July 2014, the Republic of Croatia applies the Decision No 565/2014/EU. All foreigners who are holders of valid Schengen documents, as well as national visas and residence permits of Bulgaria, Cyprus, and Romania do not require an additional visa for Croatia.
Visitors who are holders of:
uniform visa (C) for two or multiple entries, valid for all Schengen Area Member States;
visa with limited territorial validity (LTV visa), for two or multiple entries, issued to the holder of a travel document that is not recognized by one or more, but not all of the Schengen Area Member States, and which is valid for the territory of the Member States recognizing the travel document;
long-stay visa (D) for stays exceeding three months, issued by one of the Schengen Area Member State;
residence permit issued by one of the Schengen Area Member State;
national visas for two or multiple entries and residence permits of Bulgaria, listed in Annex I of the Decision No 565/2014/EU;
national visas for two or multiple entries and residence permits of Cyprus, listed in Annex III of the Decision No 565/2014/EU;
national visas for two or multiple entries and residence permits of Romania, listed in Annex IV of the Decision No 565/2014/EU;
do not require a visa for transit or intended stays in the territory of Croatia not exceeding 90 days in any 180-day period.

The period of validity of the above mentioned Schengen, Bulgarian, Cypriot, and Romanian documents must cover the duration of the transit or stay.
-Information for the holders of the Residence card of a family member of a Union citizen
A family member of a citizen of an EU Member State or the European Economic Area may travel to Croatia without a visa, if (s) he has a valid passport and a valid Residence card of a family member of a Union citizen, and is travelling in the company of or is joining the family member who is a citizen of an EU Member State or the EEA. If the family member of a citizen of an EU Member State or the EEA does not have such a card, (s) he needs a Croatian visa that will be issued on the basis of an accelerated procedure, free of charge.
A short-stay visa (C-visa) allows the visitor to transit through, or stay in the territory of the Republic of Croatia for a maximum of 90 days in any period 180 day-period. It is issued for one, two, or multiple entries for the purpose of transit, tourism, business, private or other purposes. Its validity period depends on the circumstances of the visitor’s travel to Croatia and may not exceed five years.
The visa shall not entitle a visitor to enter the Republic of Croatia.
A foreigner cannot work in Croatia on the basis of a short-term visa.
Please note that you may be required to come for a personal interview with the visa officer at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia prior to a decision being made on your application.
Submitting a visa application, including all the required documents, does not automatically mean that the visa will be issued.
An issued visa is not a guarantee that a foreign citizen will be permitted to enter the Republic of Croatia. On every crossing of the border, the police may require the foreign citizen to present all relevant documents, including copies of the Letters of Guarantee for both private and business visits.
The decision to refuse a visa, indicating reasons for such a decision, shall be delivered to the applicant in a visa refusal/annulment/revocation form.
A foreign citizen may file a complaint against the decision to refuse a visa through the competent Embassy/Consulate of the Republic of Croatia, within 15 days from the date of receipt of the decision on visa refusal/annulment/revocation. The complaint shall be filed in Croatian. The fee for non-European countries is EUR 26 or US$ 35, according to Section 78b of the Law on Administrative Fees. The visa application fee is non-refundable once the application has been accepted at the Embassy.
Any falsification of the documents and the use of such documents may be subject to criminal prosecution.
-In light of the COVID-19 alert and keeping in mind the health and safety of our customers and employees, the courier service for return of passports to Croatia visa customers in Tehran has been made mandatory.
Applicant shall be levied a VFS service charge of 30 Euros and a Covid-19 Measure Fee of 2 Euro per application over and above visa fees.
-Appointments are mandatory for all applications. Applicants cannot walk into the Visa Application Centre without a prior valid appointment under any circumstances.
To confirm your appointment, you would have to pay an amount of IRR 9,999,999.00 which will be refunded in full in your bank account/ Cash Card when you honor the appointment and validly submit your application. Applications will not be accepted if the appointment is booked under the wrong visa category or with wrong details and the booking amount will not be refunded.
Appointments once booked cannot be cancelled. However, you are allowed to reschedule your appointment twice at no additional cost and up to 2 working days prior to your scheduled date (subject to availability of appointments). The applicant has to schedule a new appointment in case of any additional rescheduling, no-show or if submitted documents were incomplete/not available/incomplete submission for any reason on the allotted date. Where the booking fee will be payable and no refund available on the previous amount paid.

The following are exempt from visa fees upon application:
-Family members of a Croatian citizen (spouse and children),
-Family members of citizens of EEA Member States
-Holders of diplomatic and service passports travelling in their official capacity
-Holders of diplomatic and service passports travelling in their official capacity
-Researchers coming to conduct research, as provided for by the Recommendation of the European Parliament and of the Council of 28 September 2005 to facilitate the issue by the Member States of uniform short-stay visas for researchers from third countries travelling within the Community for the purpose of carrying out scientific research,
